The weather forecast for the weekend didn’t look too promising with Sunday in particular suggesting cold and strong winds. However Saturday morning offered some unexpected blue skies and sunshine and a steady Force 2 to 3 wind for the races which were held out at sea. Despite some logistical difficulties with moving start and finish lines two triangle/sausage races were completed with the beat into the westerly wind towards Brancaster. Those that went far left towards the beach came out ahead at the windward mark. James Case from Wells produced some very tidy sailing to score two firsts and Jerry had a good first race eventually finishing second. Sunday racing was cancelled due to winds gusting in excess of 25 mph. |
